The influence of educational leadership on students’ academic performance in secondary schools: A case of Itilima district

This study investigated the influence of educational leadership on students’ academic performance in secondary schools. The researcher applied descriptive research design, which allowed in-depth performance. population included 109 respondents, comprised Heads Schools (HoSs), Secondary Schools’ Academic Masters, discipline masters, and Ward Educational Officers (WEO). used a simple random purposive sampling technique to select sample size 52 respondents. collected data through questionnaires. was analyzed by Ms-word Ms-Excel presented using tables. Chi-square test T-test were employed testing association between styles findings established that democratic mostly (R-value=0.932), implying there is strong positive significant achievement at p = 0.004 level. For laissez-faire style, relationship revealed an insignificant negative with very weak (R-value 0.1) not (p 0.072). Also, autocratic although moderate (R 0.546), p-value 0.08. results show most school leaders prefer use style. recommends head teachers should style if they want students achieve or excel good
